Hello there!
I know it has been rather quiet around here, but that does not mean I have not been sewing! I present to you Brown Eyed Girl! I wore this dress to a party and that song was on when I walked in. This dress has the perfect amount of swish and it looks so great.
Let’s talk about the Colette Patterns Myrtle.
I’ve made this dress before and never blogged about it not have I have I taken any good, non-selfie pictures. I still wear it about once a week. The dress can be made in either knit or woven material. I decided to try out the woven variation this time.
I used a rayon print from Joann Fabrics to make up this version.
It is such a comfortable dress. So comfortable that I think I prefer the woven over the knit? I’m not sure. It seamlessly fits into my all-dress wardrobe, and I’m certain there is room for more.
For Me Made May – I didn’t really participate since everything I wear, I make – I decided that I will finish everything I make prior to wearing it. I have a really underused serger and I think now is the time to add that professional touch to all my garments.
I’m really pleased with this dress/pattern and I have plans to make a few more this summer, both knit and woven.
So I decided to make another dress. Maxi style! It was so comfortable and easy to wear. I want to make a million more! 😀 I did a 2″ Full Bust Adjustment and sewed it up using this fabric from JoAnn. It reminds me of a dream and it is blue, hence the name, Sueño Azul. It looks a little funky on my dress form, but that is because she does not have the bust volume that I do! I have made like 10 dresses this past month, I just need to get to bloggin!
Until next time….
