Graphic Morris Blazer

Hello there!

Happy New Year! I present to you the first thing I made this year!!! It is the Morris Blazer from Grainline Studio.

I picked up the pattern during their Black Friday sale. The fabric is from It is a very lightweight printed ponte polyester/lycra blend with a tribal pattern.

This blazer is so perfect for my lifestyle and my look. It’s a light unlined blazer. Totally can be the highlight of my outfit, or a nice accompaniment. I love the shape of the front. It is very on trend right now. I love that I could use a Hong Kong seams and really make the inside pop!

This is a very wearable muslin. It pretty much fit right out the envelope. I plan on making some in solids and maybe even in leather! Only thing I need to adjust is the sleeve facing/hem. It is just a little bit too big for my forearm.

Even though this was just a muslin, I wanted to use a material that I could practice pattern matching on. I think I did a pretty decent job across the jacket.

I only made cardigans last year. This year, I plan on making many more jackets, at least one coat and a pair of jeans. I already have a pair of Ginger jeans cut out and all of the parts for a coat. I’m still exploring how far I can go in continuing my RTW fast in 2016.

WHat am i wearing?
